The Alchemist of the Abyss and the Lord of Transmutation

The Bull with Griffin Wings: Origins of the Agricultural and Metallurgical Genius Haagenti, the Forty-eighth Spirit of the Goetic list, has roots that intertwine with ancient Mesopotamian and Aegean theriomorphism. The figure of the great horned bull with griffin wings evokes the Assyrian Lamassu and the Babylonian Bull of Heaven, primordial symbols of generative power, earthly abundance, the raw strength of the soil, and dominion over the upper winds.

In pre-demonological traditions, this entity ruled over the fermentative processes of the earth: the transformation of grain into bread, of grapes into wine, of raw metal into tools of war and cultivation. He was the genius of metabolization, the power of nature to digest dead matter and be reborn in a superior, nourishing form.

The Demon of False Alchemy and Dogmatic Degradation During the process of Christian demonization, Haagenti was classified as a Great President of Hell, commanding thirty-three legions. The authors of the grimoires of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries reduced his catalog of powers to three operational points: making men wise through instruction in various subjects, transmuting all metals into gold, and changing water into wine and wine into water.

To the inquisitorial gaze, these faculties were considered satanic parodies of the miracles of Jesus Christ at the wedding at Cana and the Eucharistic transubstantiation. However, in Rosicrucian and Hermetic circles, Haagenti was preserved as the archetype of Practical Alchemy and Psychic Metabolization.

The Mystery of Inner Transmutation In true esotericism, Haagenti is not a spirit of quick material enrichment or a carnival illusionist's trick. He is the Great Catalyst of substance.

Transmutation of Metals: Lead transformed into gold is the dense, heavy, ignorant, and fearful ego that is subjected to the fire of the will to become solar consciousness (the gold of the spirit).

Water into Wine / Wine into Water: It represents dominion over the emotional and vital plane. Converting water (fluid, vague, unstable emotion) into wine (spiritual substance, divine intoxication, conscious passion); and wine into water (the ability to cool fanaticism, uncontrolled passion, or egoic drunkenness to return to purity and neutrality).

Manifestation and Sovereign Approach The presence of Haagenti is energetic, dense, and vital, often accompanied by a sensation of physical heat or vibration at the base of the spine.

Mode of Action: He operates within the individual by dissolving the mental blocks that prevent them from learning; he destroys stupidity, intellectual stagnation, and laziness. He brings instant lucidity to assimilate complex concepts and transform adverse circumstances ("lead" situations) into opportunities for personal power ("gold").

Approach and Sovereignty: One must not invoke Haagenti out of greed or the search for childish shortcuts. He is approached as a severe master of transmutation. The practitioner must be willing to go through the "fire" (effort, study, discipline). Protection against his chaotic aspect lies in not letting oneself be carried away by intellectual pride or the illusion of wealth without foundations.
