Remote viewing
Remote Viewing: The Perception of Distant Coordinates
What It Is
Remote viewing is the ability to perceive and describe in detail a distant target, hidden from view or physically inaccessible (such as geographical coordinates, military installations, hidden objects, or people), using only mental concentration and following a strict and structured scientific protocol. Unlike traditional clairvoyance, remote viewing is performed under controlled laboratory conditions that eliminate any possibility of telepathy or logical deduction.
How It Manifests
The process of remote viewing is carried out through a systematic technical method: 1. **Double-blind protocol:** The remote viewer receives no information about the target. They are only given a set of fictional geographical coordinates or an eight-digit registration number representing the target. 2. **State of focus:** The viewer enters a state of relaxed alertness, lowering their brainwaves to an alpha or theta range. 3. **Rapid sketching phase:** In the first few seconds, the receiver puts down on paper quick, intuitive strokes (ideograms) that capture the basic physical structure of the target (peaks, horizontal planes, water, man-made structures). 4. **Sensory breakdown:** Progressively, the viewer records pure sensory data such as colors, textures, smells, sounds, and temperatures associated with the location. 5. **Three-dimensional structure:** In advanced phases, the dimensions, spatial layout, function of the target, and even the activities of the people present at the site are detailed.
History and Traditions
Remote viewing was born in the 1970s at the Stanford Research Institute (SRI) in California. Physicists Russell Targ and Harold Puthoff initiated research funded by the US government to determine whether human psychic faculties could be systematized for military intelligence purposes. Artist and psychic Ingo Swann was the creator of the Coordinate Remote Viewing (CRV) method, designing the technical training phases that allowed any ordinary person to develop the ability through discipline and the deactivation of the analytical mind, which tends to contaminate pure perceptions with imagination. This research culminated in the US military program known as Project Stargate, which actively operated for more than two decades.
Famous Cases
In 1978, a Soviet Tupolev Tu-95 bomber crashed in a remote area of Africa. Western satellite services were unable to locate the wreckage of the plane. The military remote viewing team at Fort Meade was given only the task of searching for the downed aircraft using blind coordinates. Viewer Rosemary Smith provided the exact location of the crashed fuselage in the jungle, allowing US forces to recover classified materials before Soviet troops arrived. In 1973, before the Pioneer 10 space probe reached Jupiter, Ingo Swann and psychic Harold Sherman conducted a coordinated remote viewing session to observe the giant planet. During the session, Swann described the existence of a ring of dust around Jupiter. The scientific community of the time dismissed the claim, but in 1979 the Voyager 1 space probe visually confirmed the existence of Jupiter's ring, validating the accuracy of Swann's prior psychic scan.
What Explains It
The esoteric and holographic physics explanation postulates that the entire universe is a holographic information network where every part contains the information of the whole. The conscious mind is connected to this "universal cognitive matrix." By selectively focusing attention on the numerical coordinates assigned to a target, the observer acts like a radio receiver tuning into the specific frequency of that point in space-time, downloading the information directly into their physical mind. The explanation of skeptics and conventional science suggests that successful remote viewing results are due to selection bias in the data, information feedback during experiments, and ambiguous descriptions that can apply to almost any geographical location on the planet. It is argued that successful military trials suffered from methodological flaws that allowed unconscious sensory leakage to the viewers.
Connections
Remote viewing connects directly with clairvoyance, astral projection, psychic espionage, the Akashic field, and telepathy.
