An orb is a circular visual anomaly, usually translucent or opalescent, that is captured in photographs and video recordings in places with paranormal activity, or that is directly observed floating in the air. In the esoteric realm, they are considered the most basic form of spiritual energy manifestation.

In photographic material, orbs present as perfect circles of light with a defined border, a concentric core, and internal textures similar to cells or mandalas. Their most common color is white, but they vary toward blue, green, or red depending on their energetic charge. In the 1990s and 2000s, multiple witnesses and video cameras recorded small metallic and luminous orbs flying at high speed over wheat fields seconds before and during the appearance of the complex geometric figures in the crops.

What Explains It

The esoteric explanation states that orbs are energy fields carrying consciousness. When a spirit, a nature entity (elemental), or an angelic being wishes to manifest in the physical plane but lacks the necessary strength to materialize a full body, it concentrates its energy into a perfect sphere. The circle is the most efficient geometric shape to conserve energy and move through the three-dimensional plane. The scientific explanation demonstrates that the vast majority of photographic orbs are the result of the retroreflection of flash light off suspended particles in the air, a phenomenon known as backscatter or proximity defocus. Dust, pollen, moisture droplets, or small insects that are very close to the lens and out of the focal plane reflect light directly back to the camera sensor, creating out-of-focus luminous discs.
